Along with running the operations of the studio, I will be teaching several classes a week.  In my past life, I was a massage therapist and a social worker. I especially love working with beginners, couch potatoes and those who think yoga is not for them. My classes are great for building strength as well as reconnecting with your body and breath in a mindful way.  I believe everyone can do yoga; my style of teaching is encouraging and fun.  At home, I have three kids, one husband, one mutt and lots of excitement!

-CEO of The Yoga Casa

I remember going to my first yoga class while studying kinesiology in college.  As a person who is a thinker, it felt so good to be present in my body. Later I attended grad school for elementary education. I loved teaching but it was hard on my body. I decided to take a break from the classroom and began to practice yoga daily. Yoga helped me to feel grounded and self assured even though my life felt uncertain. I completed yoga teacher training but teaching yoga had not occurred to me because I never thought of myself as flexible or graceful. Now I know that yoga is for everyone! My teaching style is steady, nurturing and joyful. I truly love sharing this beautiful practice.

At home, I have two sweet girls. I've been married fifteen years and have a house full of animals. I love reading, art, traveling and nature.

Credentials:
-Registered Yoga Teacher 200 Hour

In 2006, I was introduced to yoga while healing from surgery for breast cancer. Yoga helped me heal mentally, physically, and emotionally.  Since I was a nurse for many years (including time in the Air Force),  I decided to focus on yoga for health and well-being.

I did my yoga teacher training with Arpita Shah and Om Yoga Journey in 2017.  I enjoy teaching yoga to people of all ages and especially enjoy working with those new to yoga.
I want to offer students the experience of empowerment, strength, and living in the moment that yoga brings.

At home, I have my husband and two dachshunds to keeping me company after sending off our youngest to college this year.  I enjoy the outdoors, photography, and the unending quest to learn.

Credentials:
-Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hour
-Registered Nurse (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

My first exposure to yoga was in college PE.  My body shape did not match up with the majority and I was uncomfortable.  A few years later, I tried another class and the instructor said, “Well…your thighs are too big, but I can try to help you.”

Presently I'm in my 17th year as a Special Ed teacher. The last 5-10 years have been challenging.  Knowing the researched benefits of yoga, I reluctantly gave it another try.  Luckily I found a supportive community and gained confidence. I loved moving my body and taking quality breaths.

I completed my yoga teacher training with the intent of being the EXACT OPPOSITE  type of teacher that I experienced in my past. The classes I teach typically include playfulness, relaxation, or some new information.

Personally, my roommates include: two spoiled persnickety felines and a spouse who cracks me up.  I am a wild plant lady who loves reading, traveling, hanging with friends, craft beer, and learning new things.
